Current Activity

The current areas where the FAB are focused on are:

2024/2027 New FAB recruitment

The FAB have worked closely with the club to draw up the revised recruitment process that will see the new FAB members for the next three year be elected.

130 applications were received by the closing date of April 1st. The FAB then individually assessed every application and gave it a score out of ten. The applicants names were hidden, as were the other FAB scores. When the scoring was complete, the average score was calculated and the 28 individuals who scored 7.5 or higher were invited for informal interview. The interview is for both the applicants and the FAB to be happy to move forward. This process will be complete by the end of April. Voting will take place in May, the precise dates to be confirmed.

Three of the current FAB, Niraj Haria, Allison Brett and Nigel Summers will step down from the FAB this summer.

Communication Review

The FAB are conscious of its poor record on communication and now with the extra resources available to us we are examining all the channels through which to communicate with the Albion fanbase:

These include northstandchat / FAB website / Twitter (X) / Facebook / matchday programme / FAB email / potential webinar / drop in face to face sessions / podcasts / supporter group meetings / fan websites.

We plan to then create regular briefings available through appropriate channels.

Travel Scheme Review

The FAB are currently working with the club to review the findings of the survey and design what changes might be made. This will help shape the revised scheme due to implemented not before 2024/25 season.

The most recent meeting was in October 2023 with Paul Mullen (C.O.O.) and Lee Cooper (Finance Director)

Seagulls Disability Group

Niraj Haria has taken the lead on the setting up of a new Albion Disabled Supporters Association to safeguard access and other issues for disabled supporters. Niraj has had meetings with other DSAs like Southampton and Nottingham Forest. Working closely with Sarah Gould at the club and with Bryan Martin and new FAB member Charlie Benny, the aim is to launch the Brighton & Hove Albion DSA in March 2024. A recent mailout to registered disabled fans had a fantastic response with 70 fans interested in joining the DSA.

Sustainability Group

The FAB have recently met with representatives from the club to discuss Sustainability issues.
