Preparing for European Football

The Fan Advisory Board has reached out to the Football Supporters Association (FSA) to request a Zoom call with the representatives of Premier League Clubs who have recent experience of playing in Europe.

FAB Chairman Gill Martin wrote:

“Brighton have qualified for Europe for the first time in our history. This is all very new and exciting for the Club and the supporters. We would welcome the opportunity to discuss what fans can expect when travelling abroad. We’re keen to learn from the experience of other fans who have recently had this experience.

“We all know what happened at the Champions league final in Paris with Liverpool, and I think it would be great for us to gain an insight into what can be expected when travelling abroad in different countries and gain some knowledge though both FSA representatives and fans who have travelled abroad with their clubs.

“Ideally, we would like to set up a zoom call with anyone who could give Brighton and Hove Albion’s FAB and Club representatives an insight into what to expect, do’s and don’t, advice, tips and support.

Thomas Concannon of the FSA replied positively

“I think this is a great idea, and is certainly something that could be useful for fans of Brighton/Newcastle/Aston Villa, given European football isn’t a regular thing (yet).

“Let me know if you have any sort of timings in mind and I will help arrange it with the relevant clubs. I am sure our friends at Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City and Man Utd, Chelsea, West Ham and Tottenham will be willing to share their recent experiences.

“I will happily share some experiences and useful tools from my experiences following England too, there’s a few things clubs and fans can prepare for ahead of wherever you travel to.”

The Albion FAB will share the outcome of this meeting, and the one scheduled with the club regarding European ticketing, here on our independent website.
